When values become bloated

We can’t keep too many things in the head. It’s also true for ideas a company wants to embed within its culture. To ease adoption there need to be only a few ideas simultaneously (ideally only one idea), each of them is concise and together they represent a consistent set.

Imagine what’s going on in employee’s mind if a company promotes “an ideal employee” character with desired traits that are not the same as company values. Besides too many individual requirements, we have two different sets of them which increases complexity. And, to add confusion, what set is more important?

More complexity, more confusion – less adoption.
